One of my initial references for the second project: Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis or "Metoroporisu" released in 2002. A combination of traditional cell and also 3D animation. I think the theme in this movie ties in well to our current theme (post-human) for our project. Here's one of the websites: www.sonypictures.com/cthv/metropolis/
There's also Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040. The themes in that are also quite focused on our theme.
